To all you cosmo's user's the exact location is 60, Then it turns into an escort quest, make sure you have minimal 2 45's and you because you come to a group of 4 lvl 45 scorps once. Otherwise, decent XP for finding and escort was xp.
Comment by Allakhazam When i accepted the quest nothing happened. Comment by Allakhazam I solo'd this with my level 48 pally.
From there i chain cast consecration and whenever seal of light was about up i judged it on the next target and recast seal of light. Keep repeating this for all multiple mob situations.
As a pally all you can do is grind these mobs out one at a time and keep aggro with consecration. Remember to have several instant mana potions along on this quest to keep your mana up and blessing of wisdom on at all times. Edited, Mon May 1 Comment by Allakhazam Tried it twice with my 46 priest not enough power to complete.
Saw a 47 pally heading for the chicken after third failure and followed him. We grouped and made it with no problems. All three are great quests rescue in HInterlands and Feralas and the chicken is mine Comment by Allakhazam Did this quest for first time on my hunter soloed it at 44 no problems at all easy quest just have to know when to run and when to freeze mobs.
Comment by Allakhazam where is gaping chasm. Comment by Allakhazam i got killed by the scorpions but i can't try again. Comment by Allakhazam I found him at 60,65 also. Comment by Allakhazam If the chicken catches aggro, don't attack it unless the chicken itself turns around and starts fighting. Eventually the mob will go away, always just a bit too far behind it to actually attack Most of the time, if you do engage an enemy that the chicken hasn't "seen," it will just wander off oblivious to the mob that's trying to chew you up.
Soloed this and the other two quests, very few mobs to fight besides the groups that you're forced to fight. But maybe being a 55 Warlock had something to do with it. Comment by Allakhazam The first time my 49 hunter and pet wiped, as several adds in addition to the first group of scorps descended on us. I rezzed and killed everything in the area. The second time, the chicken basically ran past everything, and I left pet on passive and ran away too.
Except for two basilisks along the way, only had to attack the pirates. Comment by Allakhazam need help, i have found that stuff, clicked it, and entered quest, where should i deliver that quest now? Comment by Allakhazam I found it at Just go NE till u find it on a hill laying. Comment by Allakhazam i cant get the freaking chicken to follow me im a 48 lock. Comment by Allakhazam Did this as a 48 BM hunter with a priest. First I tried to solo this but got owned by scorpions, dunno how lower levels could have done this "easily" solo but I guess I just suck.
Scorpions was the only challengin part tho, if you manage to bypass that somehow this is a walk in a park even alone. Comment by Allakhazam I soloed this quest as a lvl 51 pally and I can say it was nasty. I'm not sure if it was a bug or part of the quest but when the chicken agroo'ed something he didn't take any damage from it.
I'm not sure if the quest was also upgraded but i got jumped by 4 lvl 47 skorpids and then 3 lvl 45 pirates. Good exp and a good sheild as a reward.
Comment by Allakhazam I helped a warrior with it so that he would help me in return. I'm a mage, so the AoE was cake, but he would be nice when I had to rest.
So I helped him since he was already partway into it, then he said he had to go and logged. So I go to solo it, and halfway through, two horde come and say hello.
Next, I rez and go back to the chicken who has a yellow exclamation point, and I accept the quest. The chicken stands there and does nothing. Not sure what is happening, but I'll try it tomorrow. Comment by Allakhazam I had a hell of a time finding the robot after I got the drop for the beacon. I finally found it at 60,64, its in between two hills just behind the Gaping Chasm.
Its a little hard to find, and he's not always there ie someone's escorting him at the moment, so you have to wait for him to respawn the best strategy I found was to try it once, and die when the first set of scorpions spawn. Then, rez and take them out, then run the quest again. He'll pull a couple of mobs to him, but unless he actually attacks them they only chase him for a bit and then run away, so I tended to stay a little back. The second ambush was a pain, and I had to rely on feign death and a fair amount of potions, but I got it.
This one is nearly impossible to do solo until you're at so high a level that the xp isn't worth it. But if you can team up with a few people it doesnt take too much time. Comment by Allakhazam Ok, I escorted the chicken with a group, I was right there when the leader talked to the chicken, then we escorted it and it went to BB. Now where the hell do I get the xp from? Did I screw this up? I don't want to go back to that chicken.
Comment by Allakhazam Soloed as 52 Rogue. Tense but not too hard. Sucked waiting for Cold Blood cool down. Comment by Allakhazam For the ones who dont know where 2 deliver egg, is 64, 53 or 53, 64, its near a rock, down tanaris, east. The reciever of the quest is not marked whith the yellow dot and is sleeping, u must search well..
Comment by Allakhazam I also found it at 60, I'm a 53 rogue and I had a 49 warrior with me and we did this without much trouble.
Comment by Allakhazam It was pretty easy. I'm a 48 warrior, fury speced. Comment by Allakhazam Found the robot at 60,65 at the beginning of the mountains in the SE corner or Tanaris.
Comment by Allakhazam I tried quest and failed. I then abandoned quest. Does this mean I can not do this quest again?
Comment by Allakhazam Coords are right. I got exp just for completing the quest to find him plus some faction. Comment by Allakhazam 2 Ambushes Happen when the Chicken stops for a little bit longer than usual. Found Chicken at 60,64 in South East Tanaris, on mountains Yellow Dot shows on map, so if you can't find it at this location for any reason just wait at the Co-ords and it should spawn.
Solod at 49 Hunter, not hard even at lower levels, just takes a while. Comment by Allakhazam can any one give me a good description of where i can find it? Comment by Allakhazam 48 Human Warlock, this quest is quite solo-able. The scorpids that you gotta fight are tough, they almost wiped me but I just feared one and focused on the other two. Comment by Bodda Okay, I was searching that tiny chicken for about an hour now Comment by If you're a high level character and can't remember which quests you've done, you should first check the chicken before blindly farming mobs in Zul'Farrak for hours.
It turns out I completed the beacon part back in the day but never finished the escort part. The beacon and escort parts are technically two separate quest lines. Comment by i did the escourt one with the scorpions, and the first time me and the chicken died Hope this clears up any confusion. Comment by Went to do this today and the chicken wasn't there, if someone is doing this quest or the chicken is dead he may disappear for 5 minutes or so.
Edit: Ok after accepting this quest the chicken begins to walk his usual route, when he gets near COT an event spawn is supposed to happen but since someone had done the quest just before me, no mobs spawned and after about 30 seconds the chicken rocket packed back to safety and the quest completed.
Comment by rosemwelch To pick up this quest, you have to kill mobs until one of them drops this. Comment by hockeytownrox I went back and followed many of the posters' directions for these and found this to be true: In work on the Tanaris one But I never rescued the thing. Odd, I know. So I was wondering if that meant I could just go find the robot that used to be in the mountain area south of COT and there he was.
I just had to click on him and escort him and done. I did NOT have to farm drops for this drop to star the rescue component They are two different quests. Real easy pulls into groups and quick drops at least at my lvl. Do the steps in a zig zag starting bottom right and on up to the top and pull all done to about mid point.
AoE and your best group shots will drop all pretty quick. The ones down below best pulled as 2 or 3 small groups or they all won't pull together.
The ones you don't pull won't pay any attention to you while you loot. Just watch for the Axe Throwers as they tend to stay back and well, throw axes at you.
Did one run through to fill all of my 22 slot bags and no quest drop. Went to the little camp outside of ZF to empty my bags roughly 15 gold and many stacks of silk and mageweave cloth which are going to AH. Went back and on my first pass on the stairs I found 5 of the quests had been dropped plus one more down below. You can only carry one at a time but this was a very profitable way as well as quick to find this quest. Best pickings I found for these are was while farming the whelps in Feralas for Tiny Emerald.
Usually never fails to pick up one within less than whelps. I'll try to update on the Hinterlands one after I finish up the ZF find and get on out to look for it.
OK as I said. I went to Hinterlands to Jintha'lor as this area showed the most of the Vilebranch which drop this little beauty. I didn't even get to clear the place by much more than half and found one. If you're trying to do these as you lvl up they are going to be considerably harder. Having flying skills and mount makes them much easier to get to as well as dealing with the mobs. I recommend to wait until lvl 70 with flying mount and do them all as one group.
I've been reading about whether or not you did one already and bugs due to patch changes etc. Do Feralas and Tanaris first and second then head to Hinterlands as the last one finishes in Stranglethorn and the final turn in is in Booty Bay. Final note. Took all 3 completed to Booty Bay and turned in without a glitch.
Hope this helps. Comment by seitori For those of you working on reputations, you can get a little or a lot, depending on your luck with the Steamwheedle Cartel reps by farming the Southsea pirates for your beacon.
There's a bunch of them on the outer edge of the Caverns of Time mountain. Yes these still drop in Mists of Pandaria. It WILL eventually drop - some days RNG is your best friend, other days you want to repeatedly punch a kitten or other obscenely fluffy creature just to illustrate how cruel the universe can be. The command to check if you have completed ANY of the distress beacon quests is here special thanks to MrsSushi for locating the updated version of this as of 5.
After mobs, the beacon still wouldn't drop. I ran the macros that I got in this thread, double- and triple-checked the quest IDs but it kept showing me that I have not completed these quests yet. So today I figured I need to try Tanaris again - I landed on the ZF stairs, swiped across a couple dozen mobs and the 2nd mob I looted dropped the beacon.
Go figure. Comment by Can someone screenshot the macro? For whatever reason, it will not work for me for the life of me. I've tried the chat box and a macro icon itself. Comment by cswidow If you have picked up this quest before but abandoned it, go to 59,64 in Tanaris. The chicken there will have the quest. Comment by Sandyra you helped me so incredibly much! I am a big pet collector and I have been trying to figure out how to get this guy for months and I got him in about 2 hours thanks to you.
Easiest to understand and most helpful comment on here by far! Comment by janan2 I have found that when doing the quests to rescue the chicken, make sure it is far enough ahead to pulll the mobs to him and not you. Once they start to attk him you can join in the fight when necessary. If there are more than one then do what you can to pull one off for you to fight and then they don't all aggro on you.
Worked for me as a lvl 49 hunter. Comment by Sandyra, your scripts worked great! Comment by After looking through all the content out there and trying alot of it this is the best information That worked for me.
Hope this helps others. Could have been a coincidence, or maybe not. Worth a shot if you're having trouble. Comment by Kurasu If you go to the location marked on your map or follow the IDs here , and OOX isn't there for you to find, don't panic; it just means that someone else is either just on, or just finished, the quest. The NPC is not phased to the person doing the quest.
Comment by dumpztrbaby Useful comment from the mechanical chicken page that I didn't find in the comments for the actual beacons. If you are like me and you didn't do these quests when you were lower level there are some things to pay attention to since nobody has apparently done their homework.
After a week and a half of research and working the quest lines i finally figured it out so i hope this post save you some time.
